AWAKE CHILDREN'S CHORAL FESTIVAL

February 8, 2020

AWAKE is excited to celebrate our 21st choral festival this year! Subscribe to our newsletter to stay up-to-date with the latest news regarding the children's choral festival, including guest clinician biography, information for directors, and information for family and administrators.

CLINICIAN BIOGRAPHY

Jonathan Brooks has been the choir director at Germantown High School for eight years. During that time, the choir program has grown in size and scope to include three curricular choirs and two co-curricular choirs, including the school's first competitive a cappella ensemble, Sol-Town. Mr. Brooks's choirs have been featured with the Milwaukee Symphony Orchestra in performances of Mendelssohn's oratorio Elijah and Vaughan Williams’s Dona Nobis Pacem. The choirs have also performed Mozart's Requiem at Carnegie Hall under the direction of John Rutter with the New England Symphony Orchestra, and with the acclaimed vocal group Army Singers in Washington, D.C. The choirs are currently preparing for their European tour to Vienna and Prague in the spring of 2021. Mr. Brooks is an active participant in the semi-professional choir Chant Claire, where he serves as the group's president. He would like to thank Amie Beeman and all of the AWAKE members for the opportunity to work with your wonderfully talented students.
