The Association of Wisconsin-Area Kodály Educators (AWAKE) is a professional organization of music educators passionate about helping children learn and enjoy music, and dedicated to a philosophy of music education inspired by the Hungarian composer and educator Zoltán Kodály.

 

AWAKE is an affiliate chapter of MKMEA (the Midwest Kodály Music Educators of America) and OAKE (the Organization of American Kodály Educators).

 

AWAKE sponsors two workshops each school year as part of the Saturday Music Education Workshop Series. Various topics offer professional development opportunities for WI music educators. AWAKE also hosts an annual children's choral festival.

 

Besides the workshops, the AWAKE organization offers support, networking, graduate credit, and fellowship with other music educators. Check us out!
